Initial observations

I've been struck by the difference the spring sunlight makes to the greens I encounter in some of my gardening work.

I'm thinking I'd like to do something based on contrasting light and shade greens. Identifying colours is not my strong suit, so I've gone to my partner in crime Chat GPT to help tease out the colours that define light and shade in these photos. It's come up with this helpful chart (you may need to click "see more").

I'm thinking some sort of abstract collage might be in order.

A first step. Simply cut out little rectangles in appropriate colours and shades and put them down on the table in an almost random arrangement. The effect is on the way to what I hoped. I think it does evoke two differently lit portions of foliage. I shall think on where to go next, and take on board Sarah's Matisse prompt as I do so.
