Luminous paintings on slate
More inspiration from the Palazzo Maffei in Verona. I have never seen paintings on slate before. Apparently using slate was common by Veronese painters due to the proximity of quarries.
I was struck by the luminous quality of the oil paint on the slate. The pictures seemed to glow.
