I'm not a song writer but...
The introduction of this book was included in a workshop I attended recently and it occurred to me how it applies to any creative pursuit...not just song writing. I just love the whole big idea! So I bought the book. It's easy to read and very informative about the creative process. At the end are some creative exercises that I'm going to try out.

I recommend it. The book is all about focusing on the process. There’s a few bit which are specific to song writing and music but even these can be translated into visual art. For example he talks about categorising his activities into specific musical areas eg composition, lyrics, etc which can be translated into whatever themed or ideas someone is working on creatively. I found it really useful and encouraging
