Fate is blind
I have begun with a few small steps. I grabbed an hour or so in the print room at work to start making my prints of the goddess of fortune - Fortuna. She is often depicted as a blind goddess who turns the wheel of fortune. There is often depictions of mortal people holding onto the wheel as they are either climbing upward towards good fortune or turning downwards away from good fortune. I want to depict a figure or face of the goddess and in some way depict the turning wheel in a cohesive composition.
I have also have as very been thinking about an idea to cut holes into prints and layering up prints so parts of one can be seen through the holes in another. This is an idea that has been bugging me for several years ever since I did accidentally during a teaching session while demonstrating a circlular paper cuttier tool. My small step was to order a circular paper cutter tool of my own. It’s on its way.

thank you Sarah, im hoping to do more on this subject tomorrow in between teaching admin.
