Response 1
My response to the Gaming Counters tube was a multiplicity of circles. My initial impression was that this response was to the cross section of the tube. But having produced a page of differently coloured circles, the image could represent the imagined counters themselves. Of course the counters and the tube are in an intimate relationship - the tube is shaped specifically to encase a stack of counters. Morevoer, whether the tube is full or empty of counters, it contains something. That something is either a cylinder of counters or a cylinder of space (or some combination of the two). In turn, a cylinder of space provoked a second response. Namely, the Japanese concept of 'Ma': the negative space between objects; the silence between musical notes; the distance between to Karate combatants. All entities in themselves, not mere voids. Perhaps the circles are cross sections of the space inside the Gaming Counters tube.

It did feel like that.
