The shadow of an oak tree
My daughter stopped us from setting off in the car this morning to point out that the shadow cast by a pink flower that was growing from a crack in the pavement outside our house, was appearing like a little landscape with an oak tree.
Stopping to see what was happening we could see that curved shape of the lamp post that the shadow was cast, abd the angle of projection, caused the shadow shape to distort - widening the form to apear as quite a differt shape to how we perceive the flower head to be.
This puts me in mind of artists:
William Kentridge
Kara Walker
Manet
Renoir
