Whatever offering is hidden, I think it should be a reciprocal process. There should be a note asking for the participant to leave something behind; a token gift in place of whatever it is that they took. If this series of offerings could somehow be recorded it would be interesting to see the chain of tokens that formed the process over a period of time.
