A430
I have been continuing to try to use my urban pattern photos as subjects for oil painting, abstracting the original images to some degree. This week's piece used my shot of the A430 at the end of my road in Gloucester. (Colour scheme inspired by contemporary Scottish artist Peter Doig.)

And here's a re-posting of last week's piece (underside of St. Ann's Bridge over the Gloucester - Sharpness canal).

Love the new painting Ben, the textural handling of the paint in combo with the strong perspective lines hold the whole thing in tension - the tension between seeing it as an image with perspectival depth and seeing it as a pure texture on a 2d surface.
