Responding to the Transformation Brief
In response to the transformation brief I’ve been thinking about the artistic possibilities of using found objects to tell a story. The artist I researched was Rosalie Gascoigne who used found materials to create assemblages.
This collage is created using an old newspaper that was found amongst my childhood belongings. The paper is the Dartford and Swanley Chronicle dated Thursday, February 14, 1980. I was born in 1970 and brought up in Dartford, Kent.
This work is about recollecting memories from my formative and adolescent years before I left home age 22. It’s a topic I would not usually make work about so it’s been an interesting process.

Interesting emotional experience for you...?
