Creative progress

I have just got around to having a go at the current project and thought I would share my progress. I have so far found two artists that intrigue me. One is in the 'i like this at first glance' category and the other is in the "I'm not sure if I like or dislike this !' possibly a bit annoyed by it yet feel there could be more to find out. They are both on Huser and Wirth Gallery sites with videos and text to read. The next steps for me: are reading and watching videos about them. post my reflections on EDC later on. Artist 1: Geta Brătescu First impression: I like this - the clean lines, bold colour - scattered shapes.

I like the way that the shapes seem to be scattered or dropped and have found their placement. In a recent print of my own, I have been working with profiles and placement of simple shapes/images. I'm inspired by this work to go for more randomised compositions with repeating motives.

Arisist 2: Rita Ackermann Perplexed! Not sure yet how I feel about this work. But something is intriguing me... need to study more to find out. More context could help.

Artist 3. Just found this .... love these shapes: will find out more. The artist seems to have a very varied practice with many types of media spanning 2D, 3D and time-based. Her techniques are very multi-disciplinary and I'm Intrigued to find out more about her themes. ELLEN GALLAGHER
