How’s everyone getting on with…The Pointless Project
I have been reflecting on the last line of the first part of the brief about the human drive to create like a child stacking blocks ‘not “to achieve,” but to transform the world around them with whatever is to hand.’
And I’ve been resisting the urge to overthink what I am doing rather challenging myself because the brief encourages us to ‘play without judgement.’
Whatever was to hand was some air-dry clay so I spent some time rolling it and cutting it. I’ve been away from home for a week and completely forgot I’d done that so it was a lovely surprise to see them dried out on the cutting mat ready to be transformed! This is what I've done...

So so…no where near as versatile as proper clay. Big positive of air-dry clay is it dries quickly at room temperature so is very good for small craft projects. However it does not like to be over handled or reworked. It can get sort of wrinkly if you keep trying to rework it. It’s not waterproof once dry and can be quite brittle. I got this pack during lockdown as I wanted to have a go at something in clay. Overall positive is that it’s not messy, fairly cheap and convenient.
