Making work in the gaps
Waiting for car to get fixed in the garage while sitting in the coffee shop I was struck by the emptiness of the vacant chairs - the spaces where someone would sit.
I decided to draw one on the napkin. It was quite an interesting type of paper as it was soft and easily ripped. It’s also a bit stretchy so that added to the tactile feeling of drawing upon it.
While drawing I remembered that Picasso drew on serviettes. I’ll have to look that up again.
