Anyone remember Multicoloured Swap Shop?
Well this was my first silly thought during the meeting introducing the brief for September...On Saturday mornings from 1976-1982 there was a childrens programme called Swap Shop. During the show they announced that Keith Chegwin would be in a certain UK location where children could go and swap their belongings, e.g. toys, books etc.
Why am I telling you this? There is a long standing story in our family that I ALWAYS wanted a dog but was unable to have one because my brother, John, was allergic to animal hair. So aged 6 I came up with a genius idea to swap John for Lassie! Problem solved as far as I was concerned except you couldn't swap pets on Multicoloured Swap Shop.
So my silly idea was what if there was an alternative family photo album where actually I had swapped my brother for Lassie. So today I have spent a silly time looking out our family snap shots! Here's John and me in 1976...

And here's the alternative post swapping my brother and Lassie...

To be honest I am very close to my brother here is a more recent one of us...

And so now the serious work - play - begins...I have an idea to do something involving 'chance'

Love the swapshop ideas and images. Id rather have had a dog than my brother too, in childhood though we are very close now.
