Liminal Space
I've been quite stimulated by this concept. Specifically, I have found myself noticing liminality in spaces that are momentarily waiting to emerge into their own functions.
For example, this photo from inside my own home. The kitchen, so often a hub of activity - cooking, washing-up, laundry, social hubbub - I encountered from my living room in the mid-afternoon in a state of hibernation. The difference in lighting between the two spaces seemed to emphasise the apparent liminality on the other side of the doorway.

I have been doing a lot of gardening work in recent weeks, putting my own, and other people's gardens into a state of liminality for the winter. The gardens aren't dead (hopefully!), but neither are they in full-life. Here's my own garden this autumn, and it's already in stasis - eagerly waiting for the spring.

I'm not sure where to go artistically with this notion. Hopefully things will fall into place in my head.

Interesting observations about the spaces in our homes - loads of metaphors there
