beginning to respond to project brief
My first thought with the project brief was annoyance, to be asked to spend time doing something pointless.
But I put that aside and tried to be open minded.
Researched Cornelia Parker a bit- most interesting. Focused on her 'Cold Dark matter' installation of an exploded shed. Title suggests a sort of Big Bang & i know she has otherwise been interested in deconstructing and then reconstructing objects; also in altering the dimensions of objects [ I'm pondering about doing this to a garment].
I also like the importance of the dramatic shadows on gallery walls - a big part of the pleasure of sculpture for me.

This made me chuckle...as Barbara my first thought was that much of my art is pointless! I must admit that all day I have been wondering about the term 'pointless' because all activity even play is purposeful and has meaning. Anyway I think we all have caught the idea behind the brief and I am intrigued to find out what you do.
