Research and scheduling

Some of you may recall that earlier this year my phone started to crop my photos and display them as a screensaver. The display on my phone is 14cm x 7cm approx. About the same time, I saw some large rectangular paintings that reminded me of these landscape images (see below). The paintings are by Sarah Shaw. They are large scale 120cm x 50cm approx.

Sarah Shaw is a UK based artist who works primarily in oil paint. Her paintings include snatches of images, sounds and thoughts which she describes as ‘a painterly slideshow of memory’. Shaw’s paintings often explore themes of beauty, history, the passing of time and the brevity of life.

Very helpful stage - especially scheduling - Looking ahead at November I made a one page A4 grid and plotted the next three weeks. What surprised me is my lack of clear days or even half days to focus on this month's brief! This has been a good self awareness exercise as I would not have realised that otherwise. It explains why I feel like I haven't been that productive creatively for a few months since picking up a few extra duties that I thought I could just 'fit in' but actually this exercise is showing me thay have crowded out my free time each week...Haven't even picked up a paintbrush yet this month! Lots to address here!
